What Might Have Been . . . a sprawling retirement complex is now but a dream. The sketch shows East Hills Lutheran Retirement Home as it was to have looked. The project, in the works for five years, has been killed.

Waubonsie State Park . . . is one of Fremont County's most attractive recreation areas. The 1,129-acre state park is located on Highway 2 midway between Hamburg and Sydney.

Descending The Stairway . . . are Mr. and Mrs. Allen Dudley. Light fixture, now converted to electricity, has illuminated the hall since 1874. Stained glass window at the top of the stairs is one of five throughout the house.

Original Furniture . . . adds a fitting touch to this upstairs bedroom. The walnut heirlooms were restored by Mrs. Dudley.

Designed For Hospitality . . . is this three-room downstairs setting in the Dudley house. All three are living rooms. Much of the furniture shown here dates back to the day the home was built.
