The city buildings of Council Bluffs in 1904 were all in a row along Bryant Street between Broadway and Vine. At left is the city hall, a courtyard and the ornate police station.
Today...the former location of the city buildings on Bryant Street have been converted into a metered parking lot. The change took place in 1940 when a new city hall building was erected at Pearl St. and Willow Ave.
Council Bluffs Changing Scene--This corner property at Frank St. and Perrin Ave. was purcahsed [sic] in 1928 by St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The site, covered with large shade trees, included the large brick house and stone garage at right.

Today...the lake site is occupied by the new Elks Country Club building, which was completed this fall. The one-story building of masonry and glass is a far cry from the old frame two-story club house.

Today...Mosquito Creek, photographed from the same spot, has taken on a new look. Up stream is the Highway 375 overhead bridge. The high levees and widened creek channel were built by the Corps of Engineers in 1948.
