Today...on the historic site of the old Clawsen property--and one of Council Bluffs' oldest building spots--stands a bowling alley, used car lot and ice cream store. This picture looks southeast at the intersection of Broadway and State Street.
[First photo of the pair in the Nonpareil is not in file, but the caption reads: 'Council Bluffs Changing Scene--SAs late as 1953 this half block between Broadway, Pierce and State Streets was known as the Clawsen property. That year the old house, nearly a century old, was torn down after the place was sold to settle the estate.
