Today...a few buildings remain the same as in the 1918 photo. For the most part, however, remodeling and new buildings have kept up with the times.

Today...the State Savings Bank occupies the Shoe House site and that of several other stores that were removed from the old Everett Block in 1946. The bank building was opened in 1947. The Wickham Building is at upper right.

Future plans...look bright for the Wickham-Beno buildings in the 500 block of West Broadway, but for many months now, windows have simply been papered over.

The Wickham Scott Street and Broadway resembles an ear of corn if you take the round turret in the building's southwest corner into account. The site of the building was the location of Pacific House, a turn-of-the-century hotel.
