(top) Forming The Foundation . . . of museum and the historical society itself are collections of Indian artifacts gathered by county's Mintle brothers and by amateur archeologist Paul Rowe. Current Indian collection, numbering more than 15,000 artifacts (not all on display) is unusual for a county museum and one of the society's most unusual possessions.
(bottom) Ready For Dinner . . . in pioneer-era dining room, a museum display beckons viewers with period furnishings actually used in Mills County. Mannequins used in displays came from defunct department stores that donated the figures to the historical society when they closed, officials said.
