Description

Carl Whitney, grocer at Malvern, is one of many in Southwest Iowa with faces groomed for 1969 centennials. Malvern will celebrate its centennial Sept. 7 through 12. Emerson will hold celebrations May 1 through Sept. 1; Avoca's centennial will be June 19-22; Hastings', June 20-22 and Red Oak will have a 100th birthday celebration June 29 through July 5. Creston is also planning to celebrate its centennial year.
