A fitting reward for a summer's hard training was delegated to Airman Recruit Bud Strassberg of Los Angeles, California. Strassberg aided lovely Kay Nielson, "Miss Iowa," in the Miss Universe Pageant in Long Beach. Strassberg, who is attending the 85-Day Accelerated Training Program at the Naval Air Station Los Alamitos in Long Beach, California, carried the flag of Iowa in the colorful "Miss Universe" parade held Sunday, July 19th. - Official U.S. Navy Photograph
