Airman Recruit Robert M. Christie of Inglewood, California aids lovely Kay Nielson, "Miss Iowa" on her float in the recent Miss Universe Parade held Sunday July 19th. Christie is attending the 85-Day Accelerated Training School at the Naval Air Station, Los Alamitos in Long Beach, California. Trainees of the school carried flags of the countries represented and served as float navigators of the Miss Universe contestants in this the 1960 edition of the Miss Universe Pageant and Parade. - Official U.S. Navy Photograph
