Description
Wholesale evacuation of Council Bluffs' flood-threatened residents to 23 Red Cross shelters posed a number of problems -- not the least of which is that of clean clothes for refugees. And it's a problem the Red Cross is ready for. Two of its volunteers, Mrs. Ned Derby, left, and Mrs. Lawrence Krantz, both of 6 Marion Ave., Council Bluffs, put their apartment house washer to good use as they get ready to launder flood refugees' clothing.
