A combine on the back of a flat-bed trailer didn't quite clear the Loveland overpass over Interstate 29 Wednesday. The combine cab was demolished when the top of the cab struck the bridge. The bridge was not seriously damaged. Tuck driver, John Korth of Norfolk, Neb., was ticked for violating a permit which allows him to haul loads up to 14 feet high. Iowa State Troop D. J. Theobald, pictured taking measurements atop the combine, said the load "was at least 14 (feet), seven (inches)." Korth, who is employed by K&F International Inc. in Norfolk, said he was enroute to Avoca to pick up a corn head for the combine and then was to deliver the equipment to a farmer. He said this was the first accident he'd had in 25 years of truck driving.
