Rim's Eye View . . . shows the gaping proportions of the Missouri Valley Limestone Co. quarry. Arrow points to mine entrance. Walls of the pit rise more than 120 feet in places. Lake at the bottom, formed by seepage, is an estimated 40 feet deep.

(top) This Huge Cut . . . was made in the ridge above the quarry so trucks could dump their loads in the valley beyond. The view looks toward the quarry. Dynamite sheds are seen at the right.
