Description
The Lewis & Clark Historical Association of Sioux City has issued a silver or gold medallion honoring Sgt. Charles Floyd, the first American soldier to die west of the Mississippi River and the only fatality of the historic Lewis & Clark expedition of 1804-06. Funds raised from the medallion's sale will be used to develop a center at the Floyd Monument in Sioux City. Persons wishing the medallions can write to the association at Box 1804 in Sioux City.
