Description
A new footbridge across the Iowa River leads to the Music Building construction on the arts campus at the University of Iowa. The School of Music will move into the building during the second semester. Ned L. Ashton, Iowa City consulting engineer and former professor of civil engineering at the U of I, designed the footbridge, which recently won the top architectural award given by Project Green of Iowa City for this year. The Music Building contains nearly 120,000 square feet of floor space and includes three rehearsal halls for large music groups and a library 75 feet square.
