Description

The old sign designating the former Hotel Chieftain has been taken down, making way for the new Bluffs Towers in the renovated building. The 60-foot sign was taken down Tuesday. Riding a wooden box on an 85-foot dragline boom, iron workers Don and Gary Martin, Route 4, cut the big sign loose. It was lowered to a waiting truck and hauled to a junk yard.
