Description

Council Bluffs Changing Scene: The return of the 51st Regiment of Iowa Volunteers in November 1899, was photographed at the corner of Willow Avenue and Pearl Street. Residences in the background, from left to right, were the homes of W.H.M. Pusey, Thomas Officer and Judge Caleb Baldwin. The picture was contributed by Mrs. Charles T. Officer of 204 Fifth Ave. [Note: Judge Baldwin died in 1876, and his wife in 1883. Laura, a daughter, lived at 539 Willow Ave.]
