Description

Council Bluffs Changing Scene: At the turn of the century an ornate bathhouse known as the Kursal [sic], was the center of activities at Lake Manawa. Built in 1896 on the south shore it doubled as a recreation and dining hall. The platform extending over the water collapsed in 1906 and six people were killed. The entire pavilion burned down 20 years later. This postcard photo taken in 1900 was loaned to The Nonpareil by A. W. Huber of 122 W. Broadway.
