The Shelby County Courthouse in Harlan, Iowa was built in 1892 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. It was designed in the Richardsonian Romanesque style by Charles E. Bell of Council Bluffs and built for $62,733.90. It is constructed of Berea sandstone and features a slate roof.
