Council Bluffs Changing Scene--Back in 1900, some 50 horses and a large amount of hay were kept in the Welch transfer barn on South Tenth St., between Fourth and Fifth Aves. One of the transfers [sic] four-horse teams is hitched to a load of lumber. This barn burned about 1920.
