Arnolds Park, June 29 - Miss Iowa - Twenty-two-year-old Kay Nielson, daughter of Dr. And Mrs. L.C. Nielson, Council Bluffs, was chosen Miss Iowa last night. She will represent her state in the Miss Universe contest at Long Beach, Calif., late in July. She won the Iowa contest in a field of 16 candidates. Miss Nielson is a 1959 graduate of the University of Nebraska. She has blue eyes, blond hair, is 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs 115 pounds, and her measurements are 36-24-34. She was crowned Miss Iowa by Muriel Fairchild, who was named Miss Minnesota of 1959, and who will compete also for the Miss Universe title. AP Wirephoto.
