Description

Turning the dirt at groundbreaking ceremonies on Tuesday morning for the General Woodworks plant at Twenty-first Street and Ninth Avenue are A.R. Grandsaert, president of the firm; Mayor Joe Katelman; Gayle Tate,m president of the Council Bluffs Industrial Foundation; Jim Duggan of Knudson Construction Co., and Lee Lykke, president of the Chamber of Commerce.
The firm, which will employ about 90 persons, manufactures unpainted furniture and operates on a wholesale basis. The project is being financed on a $500,000 industrial revenue bond.
