Description
Council Bluffs, Iowa -- Red Cross nurses and nurses aids from the Pottawattamie County Chapter of the American Red Cross were on duty at 21 shelters during and after the evacuation of thousands of homes in the residential section of this city. Here nurses aid Mrs. E.C. Weir, reads a story to Ronald Finke, a diminutive evacuee, while Red Cross nurse Lois Mathias, provides a drink of water for Jane Marie Northrop. At the far right is Gail Leilani Dreier, who is about ready to take a nap.
