Description

For pier number 9 a cell 90 feet in diameter is being formed with sheet piling. It will be filled with sand before construction of a coffer dam. Thirteen caissons, six feet in diameter, will be augured 99 feet to bed rock, and continue 11 feet into the rock. The Missouri River at this point runs about 45 feet deep.
