Description
A large colorful monument to the Blessed Mother Mary stands on a hill overlooking Earling. The monument, in front of the Little Flower Haven Nursing Home, was constructed by Msgr. N.A. Gaul, 81, a resident at the home. The curved structure, of multicolored stone, features statures of Mary, kneeling children and sheep on an inlaid marble platform. Globe lamps mounted on various levels light the 20-foot-tall monument at night. An open air Mass is conducted annually at the site by Bishop Maurice Dingman of Des Moines.
