Description

These energetic young men with high collars were members of The Nonpareil's staff many years ago when the photograph was taken. Later several of them attained considerable prominence. Left to right, they are: Tracy Garrett, who is now editor of the Burlington Hawkeye-Gazette; George Fitch, who became a nationally prominent humorist; George Carter, who later became United States public printer; Ellis Wolf and Carroll S. Ragan. William Treynor and Robert Henderson were also members of the staff at the time but had private offices and were not in the picture. On the wall in front of Fitch is a picture of M.F. Rohrer, now deceased, former mayor and park commissioner.
