Westfair draws opening-day entries

Description

Judging of non-livestock 4-H projects began on the first day of Westfair Wednesday morning. Teena Kern, project assistant, directs entrants to judges' tables for evaluation of home economics, science, mechanical and arts entries. Crowning of the 1988 Westfair queen will take place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Westfair tent, followed by a performance by the Time Out Variety Band at 7 and a four-wheel-drive pickup pull at the grandstand at 7:30. Midway rides will operate from 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday fair events will open with 4-H dairy judging at 8 a.m., goat judging at 9 and sheep judging at 10 at the AkSarBen pavilion.
