(top) An Early Project . . . to divert Mosquito Creek into Lake Manawa was centered around this makeshift creek dam near the eastern edge of the lake. This 40-year-old photo shows John Walton, Charley Keyes and Harry Cook standing on the downstream side of the dam.
(bottom) The 1956 Version . . . of the same principle is built around this diversion structure spanning the creek upstream from the Wabash Railroad Bridge. The diversion dam will route water about 5,000 feet across country to the lake.
