Today...the southwest corner of the intersection is the site of the Council Bluffs Free Public Library. It was built in 1904 on the location of the old Pusey home. The cornerstone laying ceremony was combined with the centennial observance of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. The Office and Baldwin homes have been converted for used [sic] by the Cutler and Meyer Funeral Homes.

Crowl turns back time's pages

Still a reader . . . after 75 years, Harry Crowl Sr. reflects on his memories as a library patron. He was 10 years old when the building was dedicated, he said. Schools in Crowl's student days had fewer study materials for students, so many classes required library work. Crowl and five other long-time patrons will receive commemorative plaques at today's ceremony.
