Crews continued blasting the bridge&#039;s piers, shown behind the crane barge, to bring them down near water level. Truman Ferguson, superintendent of the demolition job, said the underwater portions will be broken up by blasting and scooped out of the river. Progress will depend on rive ice conditions, but work should be finished by March 1, Ferguson said.
