Last week two eastern railroads announced they would replace the fog horn drawl of the diesel train with something like the old steam whistle. There is currently one one vacant lot on the street which stretches about one-fourth of a mile from North Broadway to the east city limits.  Gebuhr sold the home recently and built another behind it.  The street is paved today, and lined with trees.  The hill in the 1918 photo has been taken away to make room for housing development on the street--known as one of the better residential streets in the city.  The population of Council Bluffs today is about 45,400.]]></dcterms:description>

Part of the fourth floor was burned by a fire in 1871 and the rest of the building has been remodeled.  The building now houses, in addition to the hotel, a bicycle shop and appliance store.  As it has been through the years, the Ogden is still a busy hotel.]]></dcterms:description>
