<dcterms:description><![CDATA[The last rivet has gone into the hull of the S.S. Council Bluffs Victory, to be launched at Terminal Island, Calif., Sept. 27. Here John A. McCone, president of the California Shipbuilding corporation, drives the last rivet while J.S. Sidea, Calship production manager, is the bucker-up. The rivet was the 7,065,347th to go into place at Calship since the shipyard started work in 1941, and the last to be driven under maritime commission contracts. it is for the ship that city officials are seeking to raise $500 to buy a library for the crewmen. The fund Monday had reached $295, with the Chinch Bug circle No. 3, Military Order of Lady Bugs, being the latest contributors of $10. Funds should be sent to City Clerk Nels Hansen, city hall.]]></dcterms:description>
